Company Overview

Cambridge Computer is a national integrator specializing in data storage and data protection solutions. We offer solutions focused around Storage Area Networks (SANs), Backup Systems, High Availability Clustering, and Storage Management Solutions. Our business is centered around our core expertise in these technologies, which we leverage to provide our customers with product recommendations, consulting, professional services, and technical education.

We incorporated in 1991 with the initial mission of providing products and services to “people who support other people on computers.” In other words, all of our customers were network managers, MIS managers, and small computer consulting firms. We resold over 40,000 different products at prices competitive with the national vendors and went the extra step of offering specification, customization, and integration, often at no extra charge.

In mid-1994, market conditions in the computer industry changed dramatically and our commitment to remain 100% price competitive was challenged by falling margins and bigger competitors. In response, we changed our mission from “all things for a specific set of people” to “specific things for all people.” Since 1995 we have increasingly focused on Storage Technologies, gaining an unparalleled depth of expertise in the enterprise backup and storage management industry and enabling us to deliver an unprecedented level of service to our customers. We offer a broad range of consulting services, training, and product sourcing and management in these areas and are always alert to the latest cutting-edge technologies.

Over the years, we've leveraged our expertise into a wide variety of customized services, which make us unique among storage integrators. Today we offer course development services, technical product development consulting, and prepackaged labor services in addition to our more traditional fare.

We have growth opportunities in all facets of our business and we need to recruit the best and brightest to keep pace with our opportunities. If you are a dynamic, motivated professional, or if you're completing school and feeling up to the challenge of a lifetime, we invite you to apply.

Meet Our Team
Deena Berton, CEO, and Jacob Farmer, CTO, started Cambridge Computer in 1991. Both of them were disillusioned with their brief encounters with “Corporate America,” enough so that they did not want to work in large companies, but not enough that they did not want their money!

With little more than a credit card and creativity, Deena and Jacob started Cambridge Computer, their own business, at the age of 24. And here they are today, continuing to grow the company into a larger organization, but still retain its small business charm and challenges. Please take a moment to learn a bit more about us and the other professionals who make up our management team.

Recruiting Mission Statement
Cambridge Computer’s recruiting efforts start with the recognition that our founders initiated business with large corporations when they were effectively kids. That can work against you, but business executives took them seriously—despite their age—because they took the initiative to learn all that they could about the industry. Without laurels to rest on, one does not rest. One learns how to survive in the business world and become profitable.

The success they enjoyed convinced them that young, bright, hardworking individuals can succeed earlier in their careers than “Corporate America” gives them credit for. What would happen if we invited you into our company with the same challenges that we took on for ourselves when we started the company? We could give you the same responsibility, the same decision-making authority, the same exposure to learning opportunities that we had with the added benefit of eliminating the risk. You won't have to worry about making the rent on the office, filing the right forms with the government, financing the receivables, etc. All you will have to do is work hard, learn, and apply the consulting, sales, marketing, and technology skills needed to compete in the technology industry.

If you are the kind of person who likes to learn on your own, knock down doors, and call the shots, we invite you to apply for a job with us. We have positions available for all majors and all levels of technological experience.
